According to the published National Road Transport Reform for NSW RTA45070666E(3/01).
The maximum allowable wheel load for any legally loaded heavy vehicle including B-Double Semi Trailer combinations is, for steer axles, 3000 kilo per wheel.
The maximum for four wheeled rear axles on any vehicle is 2125 kilo per wheel.
Examples
A four wheeled vehicle (small car) of 1300 kgs gross would have a wheel load of 325 kgs. A six wheeled vehicle (light truck) of 14000 kgs gross would have a single wheel load of 2333 kgs. A thirty four wheeled vehicle (B-Double) of 62,500 kgs gross would have a single wheel load of 3000 kgs.
The Australian Standard suggested nominal single wheel loadings are shown in the table below.
